Sikacryl® Universal Pro

Universal acrylic sealant

Sikacryl® Universal Pro is one-component universal acrylic sealant suitable for filling cracks and joints both indoors and outdoors (sheltered). It is a cost-effective plastic-elastic sealant, particularly suitable for non-moving (static) joints.

Usage

Joint design

The joint width must be designed to suit the joint movement required and the movement capability of the sealant. The joint width shall be ≥ 5 mm and ≤ 25 mm. A width to depth ratio of 2:1 must be maintained (for exceptions see table below). For larger joints please contact our Technical Service Department.

Triangular joints (where the sides of the joint meet at a right angle) shall have sides ≥7 mm.
Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The joints must be clean and free from dust, grease and rust. On porous surfaces such as concrete, stone, cement and plaster a primer (mixture of one part acrylic sealant and 4-5 parts of water) can be applied. On plastics and paints, adhesion tests must be performed prior to application. Iron and steel must be protected with an anti-corrosion primer.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Removal of fresh remnants from tools and application equipment can be carried out using water immediately after use. Once cured, residual material can only be removed mechanically.
